Heart of Innocence is an inspired compilation of songs recorded by several of the most beautiful female voices in the world. The songs express themes of a personal nature, with words from the heart & a purity of purpose. The uplifting nature of the CD lends itself to repeated play, inviting the voices, words & music to wash over you like the warm, healing rays of the sun. These songs will ask you to stop and take time with yourself, as they are filled with truth, acceptance, freedom, imagination, visions & dreams. The series is produced by Lloyd Barde, who was the founder of Backroads Music. On this 1st volume, all songs are in English, with amazing cover art by Daniel Merriam. Some of the artists on "Heart of Innocence" are already very familiar although the names might not be. Miriam Stockley is the voice of Adiemus, who have sold over a million units. Lisbeth Scott is similarly well known as the voice of State of Grace. Lisbeth has several of her own releases, and was featured vocalist and co-lyricist for "The Passion of Christ". Donna DeLory, who has toured as backing vocalist for Madonna for the past decade, is heard on two songs on "Heart of Innocence" -- the exquisitely moving opening track and the album closer. Tina Malia offers her stately "Shores of Avalon," a classic in its own right. Suzanne Sterling, Suzee Waters Benjamin and Maniko are also featured on this wonderfully sweeping CD. There are two tracks from the UK group Bliss, who have a huge following in Europe but little visibility in the US, and a truly choice track from Will Ackerman with Happy Rhodes (and her five-octave range). Finally, an unreleased track, "Innocent Heart," from rising star Pollyanna Bush which inspired the entire concept. "Heart of Innocence" can assist in restoring faith, offering hope and renewal of the spirit through common experiences. It is a CD to play again and again, to treasure in special moments, and to revisit and rediscover with friends, partners, groups and family members, as well as cherishing each song in those tender quiet, times. |
