There are a some very good titles that utilize Tibetan singing bowls, and "Seven Metals" has expanded the field with true excellence. Ben Iobst is a sound pioneer & bodywork therapist who has a deep knowledge of these resonant bells and bowls, using 25 singing bowls on this CD from the Himalayan countries of Tibet, Nepal & Bhutan. Each is a combination of seven metals that have been melted together and formed into bowls that range in size from 4 1/2 inches to 11 1/2 inches in diameter. The two 28-min. pieces begin & end with metal or bamboo chimes; in between the sound meditations move through resonating pitches and calming atmospheres. Highly recommended for bodywork, studying, yoga, meditation, etc. |
