A strong sense of suspense opens this new CD. Part of that may be on the listener's side of things, wondering what the inimitable Mr. Dwane has in store for us. Gratefully, it is both a return to form and an exciting new sound all rolled into one, and a change of direction from his last change of course, "Planetary Mysteries," essentially a vocal sci-fi release. The soaring sound with the searing guitar midi edge is ever present. And that's not all… The delicate, even tender tones of 'The Mists of Uncertainty" uncover a tenderness that has not much been heard before, and the atmospheric passages take the listener on an inner journey to match and balance the scales with Dwane's fantastic outward expressions. |
