Here's a release that send congratulatuions to the record label. There were two very hard to get imports by this rising star in Asian Underground/Turkish music that were also very expensive, and we wanted badly to offer them to our customers. This release happily contains both titles in this 2-CD deluxe, low-priced set: includes "Nar" & "Seyahatname". Exotic Turkish music meets modern technology in an amalgamation of heady beats, traditional instruments and a dance-ridden sensibility. The two CDs are quite different, ranging from hypnotic trance-spaces to percussive workouts that encompass intricate workings and a variety of sounds along the way. Dede is gaining recognition in the USA through occasional tours (filled Stern grove in San Francisco Summer 2004 as part of their acclaimed Summer series...) and world-wide critical acclaim. This set is filled with heady beats and aromatic music, great players are included throughout, and mercan, firlmly at the helm, shows himslef to be a more than capable leader. |
