In this sonic work of art, the pulse of the Earth is expressed through the hypnotic rhythms and flow created by Marjorie de Muynck in a blending of acoustic instruments. Tune in to the pulse of the Earth as it is imagined through the Brazilian berimbau, the subtle thrum of insects, baritone sax, slide guitar, water, voice, indigenous wind instruments. Marjorie de Muynck bends and reinvents the boundaries of sound and music through the use of harmonics created with acoustic instruments, with overtones and harmonics which are a kind of vibratory expressionist abstraction that is at once captivating, symphonic, and inspiring. I should also mention the music is very slow, droney, and subtle like a heartbeat or the soft breathing of a companion as you explore your inner vistas, where the music takes you. |
