The first CD by this artist I have very recently discovered displays an uncanny ability to distill the feelings inherent in the creative process of music composing to immediate accessibility for the listener. Michael's connection to the essence of nature is sublime and beautifully aligned with the lyrical rhythm of one day with the river spirit where the world just floats away. Listening to his CD during morning meditation and in the evening after work, it is instantly soothing and centering. “The River” seems to unlock a portal of forgotten memories that are reminders of universal truths and knowing. Michael’s musical artistry and diversity are apparent through his multi-level solo use of many instruments and moods. All of the music on this CD is composed and performed by Michael DeMaria on piano, synthesizer, percussion and primarily Native American flutes. The production and sound quality is excellent, ringing like a bell with sustained notes that linger even as they dissolve into the greater space. Michael's magical music just might help you to see beauty more clearly and peacefully. “The River flows, and when we remember … healing happens.” Let’s just say this river runs very deep; powerful yet oh so still. |
